Hair Extensions Do & Don’t Card

We hope you have fallen in love with your newly installed confidence. It’s important to maintain and look after your hair extensions and keep them looking and feeling their best.

Do

  • Use the recommended professional home care products, recommended by your stylist.
  • Condition the mid-lengths and ends. Avoid putting conditioning products to the top/root of your extensions.
  • Schedule your maintenance every 4-6 weeks or recommended from your stylist.
  • Use a low heat when drying and using styling tools.
  • Softly brush your extensions from ends to roots to avoid ripping and pulling.
  • Try new styles, be aware of unnecessary tension when styling, brushing and wearing hair up.
  • Rinse & condition immediately after swimming in chlorine, salt, bathhouses, saunas.
  • Loosely tie or braid your extensions up while you sleep.
  • Use the recommended serums and oils on your extensions to maintain the ends of your extensions.
  • Discuss any medicated and toning products before putting on the extensions.

Don’t

  • Don’t Sleep with wet or damp hair.
  • Don’t Use products containing argan oil, Moroccan oils , nut based oils, protein, alcohol, treatments and masks that have not been recommended by your stylist.
  • Putting conditioning products to or on the roots of the extensions where the extensions are applied to your natural hair.
  • Avoid using medicated and toning products on your hair extension. Discuss before putting on the extensions.
  • Don’t Wash your hair for 72 hours after your extension are installed, avoid extra moisture and sweat from the scalp, as this has a high risk of affecting the adhesive of some installed methods.
  • Don’t skip regular check-ups and maintenance appointments.
  • Tugging and pull on your extension will cause damage and weakness.
  • Don’t Remove extensions without discussions with your stylist.
  • We recommend that you strategically use and are aware that SUNSCREEN WILL leave a residue on hair extensions and can discolour.
